Not having to drive much or remember my keys was amazing! I was able to commit myself to working with “new to me” materials. I deeply appreciated the gift of this time to experiment and play without deadlines and overthinking. I know this invaluable creative free time will lead to new bodies of work and push my art practice in new and unexpected directions. I deeply appreciated having time to stop and take a moment away from my usual life. I enjoyed working in the shared studios and getting to know my fellow artists, as well as meeting Bill and Mel who work with Steve to manage the property. We shared stories, food(fresh from the garden some days), drinks, music, and of course art.
Thanks to Steve and the Buffalo Creek Art Center for an amazing experience! I can’t wait to return to the property and see what has transpired with the placing of the new works.”
