Adrien Segal is an artist based in Oakland, CA. Her practice is interdisciplinary, drawing from history, scientific research, data visualization, landscape, and material. Sculpture is the means by which she reconciles conventions of reason and intellect with sensory experience. Adrien holds a BFA in Furniture Design from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. In addition to teaching, she pursues her creative practice out of her studio on the former Naval Base in Alameda, CA.
“The residency at Buffalo Creek Art Center provided ample time to work independently in the studio, away from daily distractions. The studio and housing is shared with a small and intimate group of artists from diverse backgrounds and practices. Situated in the foothills of the Eastern Sierras, the Ranch overlooks an agricultural valley and is within driving distance of Lake Tahoe, providing a spectacularly beautiful setting to be inspired by.”
