Candice Russell is a sculptor based in Michigan’s Thumb region, specializing in representational figurative and architectural sculpture. She began her artistic journey at the University of North Texas in 2007, apprenticing under Florentine-educated sculptor George Sellers, where she mastered classical techniques. In 2009, she advanced her career in New York City, working in Barry X Ball’s studio, where she integrated modern technologies like CNC milling and 3D printing with traditional hand-carving. As lead sculptor at Foster Reeve & Associates, a Beaux-Arts plaster studio in Brooklyn, she contributed to the representational sculpting community and attended the Grand Central Atelier. In 2017, she joined the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art’s Plinth group to promote classical art education. Her relief medallions have been exhibited at Medialia Gallery in NYC, and she has showcased her work with The Classical American Homes Preservation Trust as an emerging artist in the classical tradition. Candice is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in sculpture at the New York Academy of Art.
