David was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised primarily in the Commonwealth’s rural areas. He received a BFA in graphic design from Western Kentucky University and an MFA in sculpture from the University of Iowa. An avid maker, builder, moldmaker, and metal caster, his work has been exhibited at national exhibitions throughout the East Coast and Midwest. He has shown internationally in group exhibitions in Australia, South Korea, and Germany.

“BCAC provided an exceptional opportunity, for which I am grateful. Steve, Bill, Tony, and the team were welcoming and generous with their time in supporting my efforts to build a large-scale outdoor sculpture. Primarily a metal caster with some metal fabrication skills, this experience was essential in providing outstanding conditions to explore a medium on a larger scale.

My accommodations during the residency program were fantastic and just a short walk to the studio. The one-month period went by in a flash, yet allowed me the time to concentrate on my creative projects, work with my contemporaries, and explore the beautiful landscape of Buffalo Creek and the surrounding areas.”
