Deborah Bridges is a Northern California native residing in Grass Valley, CA. After establishing a career in bronze classical figuration, she developed a line of cement garden sculpture that is currently being carried in art galleries across the U.S. Deborah is now creating thought provoking ceramic figurative sculpture, teaching advanced sculpture, and running a studio that includes three apprentices. Her work has won awards from the Off-Center International Ceramic Art Competition 2017 and 2019 and numerous juried shows such as Utah Arts Festival and La Quinta Arts. Deborah is represented by LeeAnn Brook Fine Art in Nevada City, CA and Basic Space Gallery in Portland, OR. and Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, CA.

“My time in this residency was such a wonderful opportunity to reset and regroup myself. A time away from my usual routine to experiment and discover new ideas. The studio was perfectly set up for that with its many tables and stands and the space to spread out. The new ideas just kept coming. Steve and Lana, were fantastic hosts.

I loved the house with it big and open style, with a beautiful view. It was a very restful place. Bill and Mel, the caretakers couldn’t have been more helpful, considerate and professional. I felt right at home.

The experience was perfect. I would most definitely recommend this wonderful place to sculptors looking for a place to focus on their art without distraction.
