Harry Pollitt, a Santa Fe New Mexico artist, spend his first forty years making beautiful carved wood sculptures but then in 2009 he began to apply the same skills to making kiln fired glass sculptures. While at BCAC Harry made several carved wax sculptures that will be cast in glass.

“The images of Buffalo Creek Art Center are wonderful and heighten anticipation. If you are fortunate enough to do a residency there, you will find that adjectives and superlatives run out when you pass through the gate. This place is about the experience! It is a setting unlike anything I could have envisioned.

This was my first Artist Residency and I can’t imagine anything that could surpass. The grounds are magical, living accommodations spacious and comfortable, work space large and airy with great views and the staff are truly interested in your comfort and needs.

Part of me will always be there and I extend my gratitude to Steve and Lana for their devotion to art and for allowing we sculptors to “play” on their magical property and To Mel and Bill for their thoughtfulness, attention and friendship.

Thank you all for the experience of a lifetime.”
