“A few things motivated me to attend the BCAC residency: the art and the other artists who had attended before me, and the honor of being invited. It was a real adventure post-cancer and a chance to prove that I could still build works at the scale I achieved there.

I expected a chance to turn off everything else I had going on in life and just give myself a month to really focus on my work. It was also an opportunity to work with like-minded and different sculptors with the same goals. The residency met my expectations and then some, offering a peaceful, inspirational setting to concentrate solely on my art. It was an incredible experience and a challenge to leave my own studio, tools, and everything I have at home for the opportunity to work with other artists in such a peaceful, inspirational, and beautiful place. It allowed me to focus entirely on my work, and I would highly recommend it.”
